Job Title: Logistics & Compliance Specialist - Requisition #2835

General Job Description: 
The Logistics Compliance Specialist is responsible for the accuracy of all shipping documentation relating to all import and export shipment activities. This role will be responsible for creating Commercial Invoices and other required shipping documentation, as well as auditing all of the shipping paperwork to insure materials are properly classified, and correct duties and taxes are applied; address errors as needed and report on activity. Other responsibilities include managing Carrier/Forwarder relationships and issue resolution to insure all shipments meet customer expectations. This role coordinates with the following CW Departments: Shipping, Finance, Compliance, Procurement, IT, & Customer Service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate documentation completion and distribution, including working directly with CW departments, customs brokers, freight forwarders and perform audits with weekly/monthly reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop a universal understanding and adherence of all Import/Export documentation requirements:

                    o All required documentation for shipments
                    o Training/Knowledge Sharing and Transfer
                    o Apply Root Cause/Corrective Actions Analysis

  • Manage Carrier/Forwarder relationships:

                    o Vet and approve all customer requested freight forwarders
                    o Maintain service levels to meet/exceed customer expectations
                    o Issue resolution; Root Cause/Corrective Action Analysis
                    o Drive Continuous Improvement and Cost Reductions

  • Provide assistance for materials and product export control classification (ECCN)
  • Determine harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) classification for import/export of products and materials
  • Maintain HTS classification, ECCN classification and country of origin determinations in MPR system
  • Complete Commercial Invoices
  • Auditing shipping documentation to insure materials are properly classified, and correct duties and taxes are applied; address errors as needed and report on activity.
  • Reviewing, auditing and approving all freight invoices
  • Execute and maintain all regulatory recordkeeping requirements
  • Process and maintain supplier Certificate of Origins
  • Retain and manage international packing slips for incoming materials
  • Stay knowledgeable and current on import/export regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Curtiss-Wright Compliance Team members on global logistics projects and reporting
  • Assist with communications overflow

Job Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of combined experience in trade compliance and logistics coordination
  • Associates Degree preferred, High School or equivalent required
