AeroSpace Job Description


This position will reside on the Global Trade Controls license management and compliance team, supporting the Delta or Atlas launch vehicle product lines.  A strong background in TAA and DSP licensing per the ITAR is preferred.  Licensing experience in support of launch services is beneficial.
 
Leads efforts to identify and analyze information to determine short and long-term import/export authority requirements and lead times for inclusion in business plans.  Mentors less experienced personnel in the use of strategic planning processes, tools and activities.  Develops and prioritizes strategies for meeting business requirements.  Advises enterprise in determining impact of multilateral regimes, embargoes and other sanctions, correct licensing solutions, timing and level of government engagement.  Performs research, interprets and provides guidance on trade regulations, including strategic advice on the impact of regulations on company plans.  Monitors proposed regulations and assists with developing the company's response.  Assists in the development and implementation of global trade framework to ensure that company performance and operations are within applicable government trade regulations.  Participates on applicable working groups.  Participates in external working groups as requested.  Develops strategy, conducts fact-finding, drafts and routes applications for review, approval and signature.

 

May perform duties of a Designated Empowered Official. Submits applications in accordance with procedures to applicable government agencies and provides follow-on advocacy.  Leads the development, enhancement and maintenance of internal control systems to ensure compliance with import/export regulations.  Coordinates testing of new internal controls.  Oversees the creation and maintenance of transaction review processes and control plans.  Audits transactions and documentation to ensure trade compliance as appropriate.  Determines and records transactions compliance.  Leads efforts to monitor procedures, systems supplier and internal performance and consults with senior leaders on process improvements.
 
Initiates and conducts compliance investigations.  Gathers, analyzes and documents relevant information.  Recommends appropriate disposition and corrective actions.  Prepares and submits voluntary disclosures of non-compliance when appropriate.  Identifies non-compliance trends and works with organizations to develop and implement process improvements.  Identifies trends within the government and enterprise.  Leads process improvement opportunities, provides feedback and offers solutions. 

Required Experience:

Basic Requirements: 
Bachelors Degree
15 Years Professional Experience
 
Preferred:
13 Years of professional experience with related Masters degree.
10 Years experience working in export compliance with ITAR commodities, and obtaining export licenses as part of job function.
