Overview
We are seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Manager for one of our clients to lead import and customs brokerage operations while ensuring full compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations. This role is responsible for team leadership, operational performance, and supporting business growth in a fast-paced environment. An active U.S. Customs Broker License is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily import and customs brokerage operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and trade laws
- Classify goods, determine tariffs/duties, and guide customers through import requirements
- Manage, coach, and develop brokerage team members to meet performance goals
- Maintain accurate and timely submission of all required customs documentation
- Resolve customer issues and provide expert guidance on regulations, tariffs, and restrictions
- Partner with internal teams, including sales, to support client growth and new business opportunities
- Handle post-entry processes (e.g., protests, PSCs, drawbacks, rulings)
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
- 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, import operations, and customs brokerage
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving performance
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, tariffs, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
