JOIN THE SOCIETY FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AT OUR FIRST IN-PERSON/HYBRID EVENT OF 2021

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Attendees are responsible for making their own event registration. If paying by check, please contact the SIA Business Office at sia@siaed.org and your account will be updated accordingly so your registration is not cancelled. After registration is complete you will receive a confirmation email.  

CONFERENCE
REGISTRATION CUT-OFF DATE
Registration for in-person attendance will close on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Registration for virtual attendance will close on Friday, October 22, 2021.  Please be sure you understand the Registration Changes & Cancellation policy (see below) for this event.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND CLEANLINESS

  • SIA has limited the total number of in-person attendees for this conference to allow for additional spacing between attendees and to support social distancing recommendations. We expect to have only 2 persons at each 6 foot table.
  • In addition, the Gateway Marriott will have hand sanitizer stations throughout the area.
MEALS AND RECEPTION
  • Mask requirements will be consistent with CDC, Arlington County, and Marriott guidelines. SIA strongly encourages everyone to maximize spacing and utilize masks when not eating or drinking.
  • For breakfast, we will have buffets running from 7:00am to 8:00am both days. For lunch, we will have plated lunches and will maximize spacing at the tables.

SUBSTITUTIONS Attendee must notify SIA’s Business Manager by email at least 48 hrs in advance of the conference if you wish to send a substitute participant. Registered attendees may not "share" a single registration.

REGISTRATION CHANGES & CANCELLATION 

CHANGES TO REGISTRATION

  • Changes to your registration from in-person to virtual MUST BE RECEIVED (in emailt to sia@siaed.org) by OCTOBER 6
  • All registration changes by/before October 1 will receive a refund for the difference in cost. You may still change your registration to virtual after October 6 but there will be no refund issued.   
  • Changing from in-person to virtual will not incur a fee.
REGISTRATION CANCELLATION
  • If you wish to CANCEL your registration, you must send a cancellation request by email to sia@siaed.org by the dates listed below.  

    Last day to Cancel Virtual registration:  October 22, 2021   

    Last day to Cancel In-person registration: October 6, 2021 

  • A $35 cancellation fee will be deducted from your payment prior to the refund.  
REFUND REQUESTS AS A RESULT OF TECHNICAL ISSUES

It is the responsibility of the attendee to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the webinar. Refunds will not be issued after an event has started. (Turn off your VPN if possible.) 


If a technical failure at the attendee’s home or workplace prevents access to the live webinar, refunds will not be made. Please log into the event at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

ONLINE PAYMENT "ERROR"

Some users are receiving an error "NOT AUTHORIZED" when entering their credit card number. This is caused by the VPN your organization is using for online protection. Please use a non-VPN device such as at Home or Library, etc., or contact the SIA Business Office for assistance at sia@siaed.org.

RECORDINGS By participating, you agree not to audio record or video record any part of the webinar under any circumstances unless you obtain express written permission from SIA.

Membership in SIA and attendance at SIA functions is subject to the observance of SIA’s Code of Conduct.  Any member or attendee who violates this Code is subject to expulsion from membership and may be excluded from future SIA events.  The meetings and functions of SIA are designed to facilitate the free exchanges of ideas and information.  Information from these sessions is not for attribution or publication.  Recording devices may not be used. SIA members and attendees are expected to uphold the highest standards of personal conduct at all SIA functions.  Members and/or attendees shall not solicit business or otherwise seek any private or personal financial gain in attending or participating in any SIA meeting or function; including the distribution of material not approved in advance by the SIA Board.  Membership/event attendee lists shall not be used or sold for any commercial or promotional purpose.

SIA PROGRAMS - QUALIFICATION FOR CLE/CPE CREDITS

SIA Conferences and Seminars may qualify for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) or Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits, depending upon the specific jurisdictional requirements. Please check your local jurisdiction.
