Allyn International is in search of a Global Trade Consultant to grow in our Trade Department in either of our 2 locations in the US. Allyn is a privately held professional services firm established in 1992. We provide high-quality, customer-centric services and solutions for the global marketplace. Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and trade compliance operational support and consulting.

What will the Global Trade Consultant do?

The Global Trade Consultant is responsible for assisting the department’s day-to-day operations, having an immediate impact on business fulfillment, client relations, and the achievement of long-term departmental goals and objectives. This position works with the Senior Global Trade Consultant and Global Trade Compliance Director to ensure that standard processes and relevant metrics are in place, and are used to improve customer service, reduce or contain costs, and increase the productivity of the department. The Global Trade Consultant has primary responsibility for prompt issue resolution and acting as backup to the Senior Global Trade Consultant on trade matters as requested.

Location:  Fort Myers, FL  OR Greenville, SC

Position/Classification: Full-Time; Salaried, Exempt

Compensation: Commensurate to experience

Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday

Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, carrying, and climbing stairs

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree 
  • One year minimum of relevant work experience 
  • Must currently hold or is pending a US Customs Broker License certification. Documentation of passing the US Customs Broker License examination required

​Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing escalations
  • Provide consultation on customs issues and provide timely feedback to clients
  • Prepare and execute training for internal team members or external customers / suppliers
  • Act as back up to the Senior Global Trade Consultant on trade matters as requested
  • Facilitate prompt issue resolution and oversee issue resolution within department. Timely forward suggested corrective actions or issues needing additional attention to the Senior Global Trade Consultant and Global Trade Compliance Director
  • Run standard reports and metrics on a regular basis. Analyze and review findings with Senior Global Trade Consultant and Global Trade Compliance Director   
  • Ensure client satisfaction

  • Travel to client locations as needed  
  • Participate in sales, marketing and business development included but not limited to cold calls and sales trips  
  • Participate in writing publications and articles as well as obtaining articles from team members.  
  • Assist Senior Global Trade Consultant and Global Trade Compliance Director in providing creative and informative content for corporate marketing campaigns.  
  • Provide guidance and issue resolution to peers and direct reports.  
  • Provide leadership support to a small team of 1-2 direct reports including administrative responsibilities.
  • Act as primary account/client lead for specified clients or functions.

Additional Notes

Capable of domestic and international travel; proper travel documentation required. Available to work flexible and on-call hours to include weekends/holiday hours when necessary.
