As the COVID-19 virus continues to be dynamic we are making proactive decisions to ensure the safety of our attendees and volunteers to help stop the spread of the virus.

SIA has decided to cancel the May 11-12, 2020 event in New Orleans, LA.

Our Business Manager will begin to provide refunds, or you may request to have the funds transferred to an upcoming Event for those of you that have already registered. Please reach out to ScottGarrison@siaed.org with your preference.

Continue to review our website for upcoming Events such as the 2020 Summer Back to Basics in July,  2020 Fall Advanced Conference in October as well as 2021 Summer Back to Basics Conference and 2021 Fall Advanced Conference.

Agenda topics will address a variety of advanced issues of concern to international trade professionals, including Defense Export Control and Compliance System (DECCS), exemption usage, compliance program improvements and much more. This conference will include speaker roundtables allowing attendees to meet the speakers and ask questions directly to the experts.

Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved at $189 plus tax, plus applicable state and local taxes, plus 1.75% convention and a $3 occupancy fee per room/per night, until April 17, 2020 or until sold out, whichever occurs first. You can book your room TBD or by calling TBD for reservations and ask to book under the SIA Roomblock.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received by April 24, 2020 to be eligible for a refund.

You may request to have the funds transferred to an upcoming Event instead of a refund. Please reach out to ScottGarrison@siaed.org if you would like a transfer.

There is a $35 fee for all cancellations and bank returned checks. Refunds will not be provided for cancellation requests received after April 24, 2020.

SIA Member & Attendee Code of Conduct

Membership in SIA and attendance at SIA functions is subject to the observance of SIA’s Code of Conduct.  Any member or attendee who violates this Code is subject to expulsion from membership and may be excluded from future SIA events.   The meetings and functions of SIA are designed to facilitate the free exchange of ideas and information.  Information from these sessions is not for attribution or publication. Recording devices may not be used. SIA members and attendees are expected to uphold the highest standards of personal conduct at all SIA functions.  Members and/or attendees shall not solicit business or otherwise seek any private or personal financial gain in attending or participating in any SIA meeting or function; including the distribution of material not approved in advance by the SIA Board.  Membership/event attendee lists shall not be used or sold for any commercial or promotional purpose.

Registration Substitutions 

You must notify SIA’s Business Manager by email at least 48 hrs in advance of the conference if you wish to send a substitute participant. Registered attendees may not "share" a single registration between multiple company personnel without prior coordination (at least 48 hours) and authorization from SIA’s Business Manager.
